Trebor Hillwood to develop major industrial speculative Derby site
Trebor Developments and their partner, Hillwood, have entered into an agreement with landowner, Acordis Beheer BV, to bring forward the development of a 11 acre site, close to Derby City Centre, located at Megaloughton Lane, adjacent the A52.
The Brownfield site has remained undeveloped for many years, being a former industrial site. Trebor Hillwood have now submitted a detailed planning application to the local authority to bring forward a speculative scheme of up to 3 industrial units, ranging from 30,000 sq ft up to a total of 150,000 sq ft, which will be available on a leasehold basis.
Subject to planning consent, work on site is due to commence in Summer 2019, providing quality units for occupation from Quarter Two 2020.
There has been very little mid-size new build industrial accommodation in the Derbyshire area for many years of this scale and quality. Strong interest is expected from a range of businesses, for manufacturing or distribution/logistics uses.
Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner, for Trebor, on behalf of the partners, commented “This is in a fantastic location being adjacent to the A52 and with direct access to Derby City Centre and only a short distance to the M1 motorway a short distance away. The site requires remediation, but will deliver a high quality, industrial, mid-size scheme, developed out on a speculative basis as a single phase. A great deal of hard work has taken place over the last 18 months to bring forward this site, including close liaison with the planning authority regarding the proposed planning application.
We look forward to having the opportunity of obtaining planning approval and moving forward with this exciting scheme, as soon as possible”.
Trebor/Hillwood are represented by agents Innes England (Derby office), Jones Lang LaSalle (Nottingham office) and CBRE (Birmingham office). Trebor and Hillwood are developing industrial developments across the UK.
