“Gateway 4” speculative development, Doncaster, start on site 409,000 sq ft
Work has commenced on site at Doncaster with Trebor Developments’/Hillwood’s speculative 409,000 sq ft distribution centre.
Readie Construction has been appointed as main contractor to deliver the scheme in a 34 week programme, allowing for occupation from October 2020.
The building provides a bespoke distribution hub with large yards on either side, 38 loading doors and extensive lorry parking for 83 HGVs, on the 25 acre site. The site has direct access from the A630, less than 1 mile from Junction 4 of the M18.
Bob Tattrie, Managing Partner for Trebor commented, “It is great to see work commence on site with this massive industrial development. We look forward to working with Readie Construction on the implementation, adopting a fast track programme. Doncaster Council has been most supportive to the project and will work with us in identifying potential tenants for the building”.
Cllr Bill Mordue, Cabinet Member for Business, Skills and Economic Development at Doncaster Council, added: “We are delighted to welcome yet another major industrial development company in Trebor Developments to the borough. Our Business Doncaster team look forward to marketing the property and helping to find a tenant for this prestigious speculative unit and bring further quality investment into Doncaster”.
The project by Trebor and Hillwood represents an investment of £38 million and will deliver many new jobs to the Doncaster area.
