M&G Real Estate and Trebor Developments developed a 325,000 sq ft in Redditch to create a manufacturing extension and refurbishment improvements.

The development provided high quality manufacturing and national distribution facilities for automotive glass specialist Pilkington, which relocated from its existing manufacturing site in Kings Norton. The company, which is owned by Japan’s NSG Group, consolidated its UK operations within the Redditch site.

The project involved the construction of a 100,000 sq ft extension to the facility and alterations to the existing structure to create a leading edge, climate-controlled manufacturing facility – all of which was undertaken while Pilkington’s distribution operations continued in operation.

Construction completed in November 2020 and the project deal represented both an outstanding asset management initiative, led and delivered by Trebor, and a significant pre-let transaction.
