M&G Real Estate and Trebor Developments appointed A&H Construction and Developments Limited as main contractor for a 325,000 sq ft industrial facility in Redditch to create a manufacturing extension and refurbishment improvements.

Construction completed in November 2020, ready to welcome the tenant, Pilkington Automotive.

The project involves the construction of a 72,000 sq ft extension to the facility and alterations to the existing structure to create a leading edge manufacturing operation – all of which was undertaken while Pilkington’s distribution operations continued as usual.

The development provides high quality manufacturing national distribution facilities for automotive glass specialist Pilkington, which is relocating from its existing manufacturing site in Kings Norton. The company, which is owned by Japan’s NSG Group, is consolidating its UK operations within the Redditch site.

The deal represents an outstanding asset management package and significant pre-let Midlands transaction.
