Hollymoor Point manufacturing facility completed
HORTONS’ ESTATE AND TREBOR DEVELOPMENTS COMPLETE
50,000 SQ FT MANUFACTURING FACILITY
A new 50,000 sq ft manufacturing facility at Hollymoor Point, Rubery, has been completed by Hortons’ Estate Developments and Trebor Developments.
The facility has been developed on behalf of Aquapak Polymers, a UK-based sustainable plastics manufacturer.
Aquapak, which is currently based in Kings Norton, is investing in the new premises as part of its ongoing expansion plans. Once fully operational, the manufacturing facility will have the capacity to produce 30,000 tonnes of plastic pellets with flexibility to increase production as demand grows.
Up to 50 direct jobs and 25 indirect jobs are expected to be created during the first three to four years as the company scales up production.
Production is due to start by the end of March.
Mike Everard, managing director of Aquapak Polymers, said: “The completion of our new manufacturing facility signifies an exciting new phase of expansion for the company. This is a world-class facility that will see the creation of new jobs for Birmingham, as well as supporting the regeneration of the area and the wider goals for the Midlands region.
“The move to Hollymoor Point provides us with a centralized location known for excellence in manufacturing whilst also offering the flexibility to grow our business.
“We are delighted with the quality of workmanship and competencies displayed by the teams at Hortons’ Estate and Trebor Developments, who have brought our vision of establishing a clean manufacturing facility in the Midlands to fruition.”
Hortons’ and Trebor delivered the building using a fast-track delivery programme in order to meet the tenant’s requirement to be operational early in the New Year.
Bob Tattrie, managing partner at Trebor Developments, said: “It is great to see this building completed on time. With the other phased developments that have been undertaken at Hollymoor Point, the overall development site has now created an extremely successful industrial park.”
Completion of this phase of Hollymoor Point leaves just one remaining plot, suitable for a unit of 13,000 sq ft, available on a design and build basis.
Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “It is good to see the unit completed and we’re looking forward to welcoming Aquapak to Hollymoor Point and having them on board as a major tenant.”
